If you live in Ohio, there’s no chance you haven’t heard about this spectacular piece of nature already. Adrenaline junkies and lovers of the great outdoors visit this place year after year to indulge in all of its offerings, making Hocking Hills one of the most adventurous places in the States. However, due to its incomparable beauty, an entirely new demographic has set their eyes on this incredible place. After seeing what it has to offer, couples can’t help but fall in love with the idea of having a Hocking Hills wedding. Considering you’ve landed on this site, you might be one of them too!

Before you start fantasizing, a lingering question may float in your mind: how does one get married in Hocking Hills? This is where I step in! I’ve had the chance to shoot amazing celebrations of love in this lush oasis, and the experience is truly second to none. For that reason, I’ve created a handy guide that will help you plan your Hocking Hills wedding with ease. Whether you dream of having a grand celebration with your friends and family or desire something more intimate just between you, I will be with you every step of the way!

Hocking Hills Wedding Locations

Aside from its gorgeous natural surroundings, so many couples fall head over heels for Hocking Hills due to its versatility. More specifically, you have the opportunity to get married in one of the many Hocking Hills wedding cabins found all across the region. They can be easily transformed to accommodate all sorts of celebrations, no matter how big or small they may be.

On the other hand, if you’re planning a Hocking Hills elopement, I have an even more interesting idea for you. Namely, how does getting married next to a waterfall sound? The region boasts three magnificent caves – Ash Cave, Old Man’s Cave, and Cedar Falls. All of these locations are beautiful in their own right and are idyllic places to mark your new beginnings. Don’t worry – even if you’re having a huge reception, you can still hold your ceremony here!

If you decide to have your Hocking Hills wedding in any of these three locations, you need to keep one thing in mind. All of them require permits that will allow you to host your ceremony, and they’re pretty easily obtainable. In other words, nothing will stop you from having a magical celebration!

Where To Stay In Hocking Hills

Another reason why I keep swooning over Hocking Hills time and time again is because of the many cool places to stay in the region. You can find all kinds of unique accommodations, from cute cabins to lavish retreats. For the most romantic experience, you can even opt for a whimsical treehouse!

However, one special place left me breathless when I was shooting a Hocking Hills wedding. While I always suggest going through all of your options, trust me when I say you don’t want to miss out on this one. Let me properly introduce you to The Cliffs!

Located just 45 minutes from Columbus, Ohio, The Cliffs pose the ultimate romantic getaway. Its surroundings are what dreams are made of – nothing but lush greenery will follow you wherever you turn. On top of that, the serenity across the entire estate will be just the thing you need once you decide to get married in Hocking Hills. Even if you’re having a small elopement, you need to be as relaxed as possible throughout the entire experience.

Of course, I cannot forget the thing that will make you book The Cliffs in an instant! Remember how I said Hocking Hills is incredibly versatile? That applies to this estate as well! You can choose to stay in a private 2-bedroom bungalow that offers the best views of the region. There’s even an outdoor hot tub to soothe all your pre-wedding jitters. However, if you’re coming with your family and friends, The Cliffs have got your back! The Cantwell Lodge can house up to 18 guests, and it’s just steps away from a scenic waterfall and swimming hall. It’s safe to say you won’t find better accommodation in the area!

What to Do in Hocking Hills

Finally, many couples opt for a Hocking Hills wedding specifically because of the countless activities the region offers. As previously mentioned, this place is a mecca for those who love to get their heart pumping, so let me provide you with a few suggestions.

For one, there are many climbing and rappelling experiences for you to try out before you say your iconic “I do’s”. Although this may not be the most conventional activity done before the wedding, it will surely help you get more excited about it (if that’s even humanly possible). However, if you’re looking for something low-key, you can kayak through the scenic rivers or even go hiking. And, of course, I don’t think I’ve forgotten about you, who wants your Hocking Hills elopement to be the definition of relaxing. Once all the festivities have simmered down, head to one of the spa and wellness retreats in the area to give yourself a moment of peace and tranquility.

See how easy it is to plan a Hocking Hills wedding? There’s nothing like getting married in the heart of nature, and this place poses the perfect scene for it. So, once you’re ready to tie the knot, head to that contact form to schedule a call. Nothing would excite me more than capturing all of your happiest moments together!
