Old Hollywood New Year’s Eve Wedding

New Year’s Eve is a time for new beginnings, new goals, and for Kellie and Jordan, a brand new stage of life. There is something so special about getting all dolled up with your family and friends on one of the best holidays of the year to celebrate the love between two people. If you love extravagant parties, a New Year’s Eve wedding is perfect for you. There’s glitz and glam, the champagne toasts, and, above all, the kiss at midnight.

I was lucky enough to be a part of their day and photographing every special moment. There can be a lot of expectations that come with getting married on a holiday, however the couple stayed cool and nailed every detail. From the chic invitations and the Old Hollywood decor to the charming signature cocktail menu. Altogether, these two know how to plan the perfect NYE wedding.

Beauty in the Details

Kellie and Jordan made sure that their classy New Year’s Eve feel was engrained in every detail of the wedding including the invitations. So, guests received the intricate invites and prepared for a black-tie affair full of glitz and glam before the ball dropped during a fabulous party at midnight. One detail I love is that they added a little personality with their two pups in the corner. Who doesn’t love a man in a bow tie?

Setting the Stage

One of the best NYE wedding venues around Indianapolis is Hotel Carmichael . Along with wedding planner Gina Howald, the couple transformed the already elegant space into a glamorous ballroom. From floor to ceiling, the room was covered in flowers, vintage decor, and decorative balloons. Clearly they didn’t miss a single opportunity to deliver a swanky, old Hollywood feel to the party.

Live piano players are a great substitute for a DJ.

An Unrivaled Band

At first, Kellie and Jordan thought about hiring a DJ. Then, they realized that a special NYE wedding deserves a special NYE band. So, they made no mistake when they hired Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos. The two really gave the reception a fun atmosphere. Plus, their grand pianos fit flawlessly with the theme. With every new song request, more and more guests out of their seats to sing and dance thanks to the live music.

Signature cocktails are a great way to add a personal touch to your wedding reception.

A Personal Touch

Kellie and Jordan added two signature cocktails to their bar menu in order to make sure each member of the family was well represented in the festivities. Each was named after one of their dogs, Enzo and Mabel. I thought this was such a clever way to add a personal touch as well as include their furry friends in the special occasion.

What better way to celebrate your NYE wedding than with a kiss at midnight?

Beginning the New Year With a Bang

Of course, the newlyweds didn’t forget one of the most important parts of having an NYE wedding, the ball drop! They gave their guests fun party hats and glasses. Then, the dueling pianos played a song and everyone counted down together. At midnight, Kellie and Jordan kissed and then danced their way into the new year. The whole day (and night) was so special and fun. It was clear to me how much the two loved each other as well as how much they were loved and supported by family and friends. Thank you, Kellie and Jordan for choosing me to photograph such an important moment in your lives.
